We booked our lodgings on hostelworld. Our particular room was sporting a sweet space themed ceiling, which you could make glow by turning off the regular lights and turning on the black lights. We spent one morning exploring Yongdusan Park, which sat directly above our hotel. This park is perched atop a hill with sweeping views of Busan, and at the top is Busan Tower, a museum and a bunch of shrines.
Every hour on the hour, there is a pretty spectacular musical fountain show—amazing what can be done with technology! It would be okay if these were like the Japanese style, but apparently they are not.
Did you go by the glass house area in Busan? It is interesting to see. And based on your pictures, looks like you did make it to the International Market area. Did you go to Pizza Hut and Coldstone to fill your Western-food taste buds? Haha yes, love motels are certainly an experience. Some are seedier than others, this one was thankfully okay. Is that on Texas Street? No Pizza Hut or Coldstone, but we gorged on Mexican food and gourmet cheeseburgers!
We actually do have a Pizza Hut in our small town, but it costs about 3 times as much as the Korean pizza chains, so we avoid it. Your guide book was right. Texas Street is the red light district of Busan. The glass house area is for Koreans only and those are more near the International Market. The care they put into the colorful painting of their building is beautiful. I liked the picture of the building with all the detail and colored lanterns also.
